Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Cup Day is one of the icons of the national thoroughbred racing calendar and is headed up by the Group I $500,000 Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Cup. It’s also the final day of Auckland Cup Week®.

In 20202 the party was humming off-track with the second running of the Dunstan Feeds Auckland Clydesdale Cup, the Style Stakes fashion competition, a competition with a trip to Las Vegas flying Hawaiian Airlines for a seven-day Globus Highlights of the Canyonland Tour as the prize, corporate & social hospitality, free children’s entertainment, spot prizes from Love Racing NZ’s ‘winning wheel’, an on-site after party plus more.

The 2020 Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Cup was won by the Anthony Fuller-trained Roger That (Shinko King ex Heather Lyn) who was ridden by last year’s race winner, Samantha Collett and owned by PG Alan, SB Cunningham, Mrs SH Fuller & C Squires.

The other black type races on the day were the Group I Sistema Stakes and the Group 1 Bonecrusher New Zealand Stakes.
