RELIVE IT: 2020 Karaka Million 2YO won by Cool Aza Beel

New Zealand’s richest night of racing, the New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka Million, is kicking off here at Ellerslie on Saturday 23 January 2021.

As we slowly warm up to the best night of racing in the country, we’re re-living just how good it was in 2020.

Today, we check out 2019/20 Auckland Racing Club HORSE OF THE YEAR, Cool Aza Beel’s, win in the 2020 $1,000,000 Karaka Million 2YO:

Following his win the Karaka Million 2YO, Cool Aza Beel went on to take out the Group 1 $200,000 Sistema Stakes here at Ellerslie on Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Cup Day.

In October 2020 he was named our 2019/20 Horse of the Year, as judged by a panel of invited racing officials and media.

On the night, we’ll be hosting another $1 million race as well – the DoubleTree by Hilton Karaka Million 2YO – also open to graduates of New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sales Series.
