If you’re looking for people-watching prospects & an excuse to let your hair down on Auckland’s million-dollar night, The Birdcage is the precinct for you.

Located within the modern surrounds of our Cuvée Bar which boasts an expansive indoor/outdoor flow, you won’t get much closer to the horses with the Birdcage right beside you and the winning post directly opposite.

We’ll start the party off with a drink on arrival, will throw in a racebook so you can ‘track talk’ like the pros and have delicious food available for purchase.

All that’s left for you to do is gather the troops & get set for a night like no other!

Home to the evening’s official on-site afterparty, this area will sell out quickly and tickets will be allocated strictly in order of payment.  We warn you, once it’s sold out, it really is sold out.

If you can gather nine friends, we’ve got a ‘Group of 10’ discount to take advantage of too.

    • On-site parking is free and accessed through Derby Downs Place
    • All bars close shortly after the last race with the exception of the on-site afterparty and The Grove
    • Afterparty conditions apply: R18, dress code applies, intoxicated persons will not be permitted or tolerated, first-in-first served, space is limited
    • Auckland Thoroughbred Racing encourages responsible drinking and intoxicated persons will not be granted entry to Ellerslie Racecourse

    • Tickets are non-refundable and prices include GST. A separate booking fee of $1.50 per ticket will also apply upon purchase
