Due to high demand, we’re introducing the Barfoot & Thompson Top Deck – an all-new hospitality precinct for the all-new Barfoot & Thompson Champions Day 2025.

Located indoors on Level 3 of the Ellerslie Stand, this space offers panoramic views, air-conditioned comfort, and easy access to covered grandstand seating, so you’ll still feel like you’re part of the action (from above!).

Designed for business or social groups, the Barfoot & Thompson Top Deck is where great company meets a great day at the races. Enjoy a specially curated menu from Executive Chef Paul Barrett, featuring the best of seasonal Kiwi produce – some of it even grown right here at Ellerslie.

Despite being in your own precinct, you’ll also have access into all general admission areas on course, including The Ned Prix de Fashion (to enter or watch!).

With limited seats available, this all-new precinct won’t stick around for long.

Please note:

  • Seating is in tables of 10.  If less than 10 tickets are purchased, you may be required to share your table with others
  • This precinct offers mobility access. Simply take the lift from the ground floor of the Ellerslie Stand to level 3 and it’s a short trip down the hallway to the room. There are accessible toilets on the same level.

    • On-site parking is free and accessed through Derby Downs Place
    • All bars close shortly after the last race with the exception of the on-site afterparty
    • Afterparty entry conditions apply: Intoxicated persons will not be permitted or tolerated, first-in-first served, space is limited
    • Auckland Thoroughbred Racing encourages responsible drinking and intoxicated persons will not be granted entry to Ellerslie Racecourse

    • Tickets are non-refundable and prices include GST. A separate booking fee of $1.50 per ticket will also apply upon purchase
