This precinct takes what is already an extraordinary day to the next level.  This trackside location, that channels the laidback but chic feel of a Marlborough winery, is the hottest place to witness the day’s Group racing action.

The Grove offers you the chance to enjoy a range of beverages (included in your ticket price) including a delicious selection of wines, food throughout the day to graze upon, a resident DJ to keep the vibe just so…plus the sound of the track’s “thunder” as the horses race past you on their way to the riches of the winning post.  And we will even throw in a racebook so you can ‘track talk’ like a pro.

​There’ll be unreserved seating and cocktail style furniture (if you didn’t upgrade to the reserved table of 10) to keep you comfy all day long.

​All that’s left for you to do is find some friends keen to come and enjoy a taste of the high life at Champions Day!

  • A glass of wine on arrival
  • Five food drops throughout the day especially designed by ATR Executive Chef Paul Barrett and prepared using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients

  • As The Grove is a social precinct, seating is unreserved and available on a first-in, first-served basis if you haven’t elected to purchase a reserved table ($3100/table of 10).

    • On-site parking is free and accessed through Derby Downs Place
    • All bars close shortly after the last race with the exception of the on-site afterparty
    • Afterparty entry conditions apply: Intoxicated persons will not be permitted or tolerated, first-in-first served, space is limited
    • Auckland Thoroughbred Racing encourages responsible drinking and intoxicated persons will not be granted entry to Ellerslie Racecourse

    • Tickets are non-refundable and prices include GST. A separate booking fee of $1.50 per ticket will also apply upon purchase
