All-new The Closer has been created to cater to the demand experienced for Barfoot & Thompson Champions Day 2025.  Located on the second floor of the Ellerslie Stand, adjacent to Silks, this spectacular golden-ceilinged room offers air conditioned comfort as well as easy access to grandstand seating so you can hear the thunder of hooves.

A fantastic shared precinct for business or social groups, seats are limited and we expect this space to go just as quickly as the others.

The menu for the day has been specially designed by Executive Chef Paul Barrett who relies on the bounty of seasonal Kiwi produce, often incorporating produce grown sustainably onsite.

The Closer

Package includes:

    • On-site parking is free and accessed through Derby Downs Place
    • All bars close shortly after the last race with the exception of the on-site afterparty
    • Afterparty entry conditions apply: Intoxicated persons will not be permitted or tolerated, first-in-first served, space is limited
    • Auckland Thoroughbred Racing encourages responsible drinking and intoxicated persons will not be granted entry to Ellerslie Racecourse

    • Tickets are non-refundable and prices include GST. A separate booking fee of $1.50 per ticket will also apply upon purchase
