Boxing Day plans? We’ve got ’em. Welcome back to The Paddock.

The famous SkyCity Boxing Day Races are back in action and The Paddock, in association with The Grand Tour, is calling your name.

Imagine this: Live DJs spinning all day, food trucks, chilled drinks, your best crew and some horse racing in the background. Located in a new location on The Barrett Lawn, The Paddock is definitely going to be bringing back alll the energy that made it a “must-hit” pre-COVID for those who like to party.

2024’s DJ line-up includes Pixie Lane, Bontempo and Hamish Crocker on the decks, ensuring this will be one for the books.

Just be ready to snap up those tickets fast because you definitely don’t want to be the one on the sidelines scrolling Insta while all your mates are having the time.

Mark it down: December 26. This is the summer scene you don’t want to miss.

 

Weather update: The Paddock ticketholders have exclusive access into The Grand Tour marquee and the precinct, while primarily designed as an open air space, will also have umbrellas. Ticketholders also have access into general admission areas on course including the Newmarket Room (ground floor, Ellerslie Stand), TAB Winning Post (ground floor, Ascot Stand – TAB account required) and the Maman Fashions in the Field marquee.

The Paddock

Package includes:

  • Drink on arrival (RTD)
  • Food truck voucher to redeem within the precinct
  • Cash bar featuring standard & premium New Zealand wines, local & imported beers, RTDs & non-alcoholic beverages
  • Your own DJ line-up to keep the vibes going all day long
  • Access to betting facilities within the precinct
  • General admission into the racecourse (including access to enter or watch Maman Fashions in the Field and go into The Infield) and The Paddock admission (located on the Barrett Lawn)
  • Access to unreserved cocktail seating with limited shade & shelter.

 

Please note:

  • This precinct is R18
  • Whilst you’re encouraged to dress up when joining us at the races, there’s no specific dress code in The Paddock or general admission areas on course. All clothing should be tidy and presentable, however, and if you are planning on going into other hospitality areas or grandstands while on course (or entering Maman Fashions in the Field!), just note that a dress code may apply in those areas

    • On-site parking is free and accessed through Derby Downs Place
    • This precinct is strictly R18
    • All bars close shortly after the last race with the exception of The Paddock and Cuvée (hospitality ticketholders welcome into either precinct after the last race. A dress code applies in Cuvée)
    • This space is R18; intoxicated persons will not be permitted or tolerated
    • Auckland Thoroughbred Racing encourages responsible drinking and intoxicated persons will not be granted entry into, or tolerated in, Ellerslie Racecourse
    • While no official dress code is in place in this precinct, a tidy presentation of dress is appreciated. A dress code applies in most hospitality precincts on course. Please click here for more information, particularly if you have tickets into other areas
    • Tickets are non-refundable and prices include GST. A separate booking fee of $1.50 per ticket will also apply upon purchase
    • Promotional photographs, social media content & film footage will be taken at this event. By entering the racecourse, event-goers consent to use of their image by the Club & New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing for promotional purposes
