Ellerslie is the place to be on 22 February with an action-packed raceday featuring some of the most crucial lead-ups to our major Barfoot & Thompson Champions Day features.
The Eagle Technology Avondale Guineas will help shape the Trackside New Zealand Derby field, while the Eagle Technology Avondale Cup carries major Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Cup implications. Add in the tactical battle of the Group 1 Sport Nation Otaki-Maori WFA Classic and the Trevor & Corallie Eagle Uncle Remus Stakes which promises to act as a form-setter for the upcoming $3.5 NZB Kiwi, and you’ve got an afternoon of top-tier racing that’s as strategic as it is thrilling.
FREE children’s entertainment including a mini golf course, swingball sets and bouncy castle (subject to weather conditions) will be in action on the Newmarket Lawn to help keep the little ones entertained.

If you're bringing the younger family members to Eagle Technology Avondale Cup & Guineas Day, we've got their day sorted.
Free general admission will get you access to our bouncy castle, mini golf course and swingball sets which are free to use.
The moment we’ve all been waiting for is almost here. With the best of the best set to line up at Ellerslie for their shot at glory on 8 March, our club’s runner will carry more than just silks - they’ll carry our hopes.
Club members are invited to join the Club in the Takanini Room as we unveil which horse will represent our club in the $3.5m NZB Kiwi.
Racing expert Michael Guerin will be on hand to help announce our runner after Race 1, so make sure you’re there to hear it first.
Plus, we'll be drawing the name of one lucky member who will win an exclusive slot holder experience on Barfoot & Thompson Champions Day at Ellerslie (8 March)*.
* Competition open to all financial members of the Club. Members do not need to be on course for next weekend’s unveiling to be eligible.
