Jockey Comments – Group 2 Shaw’s Wire Ropes Auckland Guineas

1st= Yaldi – Micheal McNab – Definitely better with the blinkers. Deserved the win.

2nd – Midnight Edition – Matt Cartwright – Jumped and travelled nicely and showed a real good kick. Fought gamely to the line. Very honest run.

3rd – Checkmate – Warren Kennedy – Pace was too slow for him. We got caught flat footed when we turned for home. Finished strongly.

4th – Suit Yourself – Sam Spratt – Got a good trip but a longer trip would suit better. Nice run.

5th – Full Force – Ryan Elliot – Good run. Did have to change ground. Through the line he was good. Looking for a mile.

6th – Damask Rose- Blake Shinn – She moved into the race well but levelled out at the250m onwards. She had a hard run with 59kgs last start, and it may have affected her. She’ll bounce back.

7th – Whiskey N Roses – Vinnie Colgan – He’s going for a spell now.

8th – Customized – Rory Hutchings – Caught a bit deep with no tempo in the race. Looking for further.

9th- Osteria – Masa Hashizume – Had to go back from the draw and didn’t really kick. Disappointed.

10th – Domain Ace – Craig Grylls – Had a nice run. A little disappointed when the acid came on. He didn’t respond.

Last – Texas Hold ‘Em – Kevin Stott – Pace was slow and he didn’t quicken.
