Auckland Racing Club has today announced the winner of the Club’s first-ever virtual fashions in the field competition – Fashions OFF the Field.

Running as a last-chance qualifier for The Ned Prix de Fashion, this competition was open to women living across New Zealand and offered a winner-takes-all prize package in addition to that coveted final spot in the national fashions in the field final.

Taking out the top score from competition judges Milano Imai (AUS), Bridgette O’Sullivan (NZ), Hannah Marinkovich (NZ), Olivia Moor (NZ), Carena West (NZ) and Matt Anderson (NZ) was Auckland’s Nicola May (pictured) who tasted some success in the 2020 edition of The Ned Prix de Fashion when she made the top five.

For her Fashions off the Field entry, Nicola teamed a velvet top with leather detailing and balloon sleeves with a tiered leather skirt with gold button detailing.

She further-styled the outfit with a felt pillbox hat with bow detailing, a velvet clutch and suede heels.

In addition to getting that final spot in the national fashions in the field final, Nicola’s winner-takes-all prize package also included:

Nicola now joins another 14 fashions in the field winners from around the country to compete in The Ned Prix de Fashion which, for the first time, will also be judged virtually.

Those entrants have until 3 May 2021 to get their entries in and it is their choice as to whether they want to enter in their original ‘winning’ outfit, or choose something else to help catch the judges’ eyes.

The winner of The Ned Prix de Fashion – New Zealand’s fashions in the field final – will walk away with a $20,000+ winner-takes-all prize package courtesy of The Ned and Victoria Racing Club that includes the opportunity to be our country’s representative at Myer Fashions on the Field in Melbourne in November.
