The Ned Prix de Fashion returns to the runway on Champions Day, 8 March 2025, with a $15,000+ winner-takes-all prize package courtesy of The Ned, as well as the coveted sash and national racewear title.
The culmination of New Zealand’s fashions in the field competitions, this is the national final, bringing together the cream of the crop to find the country’s most stylish racegoer.
Entry into The Ned Prix de Fashion is by pre-qualification with entrants needing to win a qualifying competition in order to secure their spot in the competition.
Qualifying events taking place throughout the country will culminate in a final pre-qualifying competition here at Ellerslie on Champions Day (8 March 2025), giving four lucky women one last ‘wild card’ chance to secure their spot in the Semi-Final of The Ned Prix de Fashion.
Contestants will then take to the runway in a bid to catch the eye of our expert panel of judges whose job it will be to whittle the pool down to just five Grand Finalists and from there, the Supreme Winner.
This season also celebrates 20 years of The Ned Prix de Fashion. To celebrate, check out the competition’s honour roll below.
This year’s edition will see 11 semi-finalists make the field for The Ned Prix de Fashion after having won a qualifying fashions in the field competition (held throughout New Zealand) over the course of the 2024/25 season.

Following tradition, The Ned Prix de Fashion is a winner-takes-all competition with the Supreme Winner walking away with not only the national racewear title and that coveted sash, but a $15,000+ prize package courtesy of The Ned.
Including:
- A three-night trip to Marlborough for two people including flights, vineyard and winery tours, wine tasting, a wine degustation dinner with The Ned team and a helicopter trip over the gorgeous Marlborough region finishing with a picnic overlooking the vines that produce The Ned wines
- A one years' supply of The Ned wine
- A bespoke millinery headpiece created by Jill Humphries (Millinery Jill) under her Black Label brand to the value of $1500. The winner will get the opportunity to work with renowned, award winning milliner Jill Humphries in the creation of a black label headpiece. Jill Humphries Black label was created to define Jill's handmade couture millinery and sets it aside from her ready to wear label, Millinery Jill.
- A Bettjemans Salon voucher valued at $732 consisting of a makeover (ladies' cut, blow wave, full head of foils and a treatment) as well as two red carpet blow waves
- A $500 Caci Clinic voucher
- An Ashley & Co giftbox valued at $200.
