Maman Fashions in the Field

With over $8,000 in prizes to be won, including categories for both men and women, the stakes have never been higher.

Running for close to 65 years, this iconic fashions in the field competition is a hot contest with fabulous prizes from Maman, Golf Warehouse, and more to be won.

For the ladies, this year’s competition carries extra prestige with our winner and runner-up each qualifying for The Ned Prix de Fashion 2025, New Zealand racing’s ultimate fashion contest, where they’ll represent Ellerslie among the country’s best-dressed.

We love handing out sashes as much as contestants love receiving them, so in addition to our Maman Womenswear (1st & 2nd) and Golf Warehouse Menswear awards (1st & 2nd), there’s also sashes available for our SkyCity Auckland Maiden (never won a fashions in the field competition before), Tan In The City Best Accessories and Monika Neuhauser Millinery Award winners.

Carena West

A familiar face on and off the track, club ambassador Carena West brings a wealth of experience and passion to Maman Fashions in the Field – this year making her MC debut alongside joining the judging panel to submit scores on our competition finalists.

As a Club ambassador and the 2019 Myer Fashions on the Field National Final winner at Flemington, Carena’s credentials in racing fashion are as impressive as her raceday ensembles. But her connection to racing goes beyond the runway. Carena is also a Club member, winning owner, and accomplished horse rider, making her a true all-rounder in the racing world.

Off track, Carena keeps her plate full by running a successful activewear label alongside her sister and being a mum to her gorgeous daughter. We also LOVE her equal parts talent, style and hilarity Insta account.
