We had not one but TWO chances to qualify for The Ned Prix de Fashion regional final. Who won the coveted spots?
In addition to being a qualifier for The Ned Prix de Fashion, the two lucky women were chosen by our panel of judges as our best dressed contemporary and best dressed classic looks oncourse, and each took home a fabulous prize package.
Entering was easy.
First: You had to visit our self-entry booth located off the Service Road at Pukekohe Park (keep an eye out for the fashion signs), have your picture taken by the team there and you were in the running. The booth opened at 11am and you needed to have entered before 2pm.
Then: Our judges then reviewed the entrants and selected a Top 10, who were invited to hit the runway to allow our judges the chance to see their looks in person.
Finally: Our two category winners were announced live on stage and received their amazing prizes (with our classic womenswear category sponsored by Dark Hampton and our contemporary womenswear category sponsored by Bracu Estate), as well as two of Auckland’s final spots in The Ned Prix de Fashion Regional Final and don’t forget the bragging rights. In addition, we had one prize just for the locals, and announced our Best Dressed Local Lady of the day sponsored by Harries Boutique.
Remember you’ve got to be in it to win it, so we encourage all women aged 18years + to give it a go next time and put their best hoof (we mean foot) forward.
Carena West
A Club ambassador & VRC’s 2019 Myer Fashions on the Field National Final winner (Aus) isn’t her only experience in racing with Carena also moonlighting as a Club member, winning owner and seasoned fashions in the field judge (she’s a horse rider too!). In between attending racedays, Carena is kept busy with running an activewear label with her sister, a stylish Instagram account and motherhood.
Ryan Teece
ATR Ambassador, Ryan, cuts a stylish path wherever he goes. With a background in design, his attention to detail and eye for a well coordinated look is well honed. Ryan is also a keen racegoer and his personal approach to racewear is top tier – the three piece suits are just *chefs kiss*. We look forward to Ryan’s fresh perspective on our Boxing Day Style Stakes panel.
Justine Seabrook
A face many of you will be familiar with due to her position as half of one of New Zealand’s most well-known racing couples – she’s never missed a Karaka Million! With her husband heading up New Zealand Bloodstock, Justine is a regular attendee at the races both here in New Zealand as well as abroad and serves up immaculate looks every time. Justine runs her own styling business and has been a regular competitor in fashions in the field competitions in the past so with a passion for both horses and fashion (the ultimate combo in our opinion) we’re thrilled to have Justine join our judging panel once again.
