A ride down memory lane: Cameron Rodger

As we gear up for Auckland’s biggest and best week of racing, Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Cup Week, we took some time to catch up with Cameron Roger, Managing Director of Entain, one of the major sponsors of the week. With so much history here at the big ‘E’, we found out what Cameron’s favourite racing moment at Ellerslie has been to date.

Here’s what Cameron had to say…..

“Choosing my favourite memory at Ellerslie is easy. Watching the filly Silent Achiever overcome tough track conditions to win the 2012 New Zealand Derby with J Mac onboard.

“There was so much expectation on her that day after she went on an absolute tear across the lead-in stakes races. She was so, so, tough in winning. Helped that I had my biggest collect ever (at the time) riding on her.

“To this day, I have never ridden one home as hard as we did from the public stand that day.”
